Director and Choreographer
Suda Yantiss-Colon is a 30+ year resident of Oldsmar and has been involved in numerous activities and organizations in her community throughout her residency. She is most known for her 22 year dance program with the City of Oldsmar as "Miss Suda", teaching students from age 4&up in the art of dance and musical performance. She has also had the honor of directing and coordinating full theater production cantatas in past years for the Community United Methodist Church that included casts up to 40 people as well as the directing stage skits during services. She is additionally honored to organize and coordinate the Oldsmar Community Chorus seen at Oldsmar‘s Christmas Wonderland. Her talents include seamstress, costume design, set design, painting, dance, staging, program design and production, photography, lighting, sound, music editing and much more. She has numerous years of experience from high school to adult life working in theater. She is joyously married to her husband. Hector Colon, who works alongside her helping with props, sets, scenery lights, sound, photography, and often joins her on the stage for an acting role or salsa number..."we just love to dance together!"
Jody Carr is a community theater veteran as well as a choral director and classically trained pianist. She enjoys teaching piano, playing at church and coaching kids! A few of the musicals she’s played/and or directed are "The Sound of Music," "Cheaper by the Dozen," and "You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown" at our own R. E. Olds Park Amphitheater. Miss Jody is grateful to have been a part of Opal Theater since the first production, "The Lion King Jr." She enjoys spending time with the kids and seeing them grow in ability and confidence.
